Pectus Excavatum Pot Belly

One of the most frustrating issues with having pectus excavatum and a sunken chest is having a pot belly like appearance. This is not happening because you are overweight and even skinny people with PE had the tendency to have a pot belly appearance.

This is mainly due to the sunken sternum pushing down on the top of the stomach and forcing it to bulge forward , what I suggest is to buy a posture brace that helps to bring back the shoulders while at the same time suck in your gut , which helps greatly for improving flared ribs and bringing them back into a more neutral position.

Apart from that weight loss can definitely help and I have become a huge fan of using cinnamon in my protein shakes to boost my weight loss and it seems to working quite well so far, check out the link for more information

Pectus Excavatum - Talked to a Nuss Surgeon Today

So I went into the royal children's hospital today, felt a bit strange considering I am in my late 20's surrounded by very young people with pectus excavatum. Was kinda nice having fellow PE people in the same room together.

I visited the nuss surgeon just so that he could examine me and inform me of whether the surgery was an option for me and would he be willing to perform the surgery.

Need the Surgery?

He examined me for a little while and apparently my pectus excavatum is very mild compared to ones he has seen and he said that it was really up to me whether I wanted the surgery as for me it was totally a COSMETIC surgery and nothing else but he was happy to perform the surgery on me as he had been doing the nuss surgery for around 10 years and was very experienced.

He didn't push me towards the surgery at all and was very reassuring that my condition was very mild so I left feeling quite a lot better , he also gave me a brochure on how the nuss procedure is performed and it kind of puts you off its a bit gory. For now I will continue to use exercises to try and fix my PE and I asked the surgeon about this and he said it couldn't hurt. Probably should have asked him more questions considering how much he charges for his time oh well at least I know the surgery is an option.

You can visit Pectus Excavatum Surgery , http://www.pesurgery.com for more information on the surgery procedure and its being updated weekly so there should be some updates coming son
